Cybersecurity Added to our GSA Schedule

We added Highly Adaptive Cybersecurity Services (HACS) to our GSA schedule. (HACS) includes proactive and reactive cybersecurity services that improve the customer’s enterprise-level security posture. The scope of this category encompasses a wide range of fields that include, but are not limited to, Risk Management Framework (RMF) services, information assurance (IA), virus detection, network management, situational awareness and incident response, secure web hosting, and backup and security services, Security Operations Center (SOC) services.

What we Provide

  • Certified personnel including networking and systems engineers and analysts who provide incident response as well as consultation and guidance.
  • Identify and protect a customer’s information resources, detect and respond to cybersecurity events or incidents, and recover capabilities or services impaired by any incidents that emerge.
  • Engineer and assist with firewalls, network edge devices, encryption devices, anti-threat, anti-intrusion devices and software.
  • Asset management, logistics management, process management, and data management.
  • System/Network Efficiencies and Performance Evaluations, specifically, recommendations to improve system/network efficiency and performance.
  • Periodic IA/cybersecurity testing utilizing ACAS.
  • Manual STIG compliance checks when necessary.
  • Analysis of scanning results/compliance checks (ex. identify false positives in the data, identify if updated security patches and STIG updates are implemented).
  • Recommendations on corrective actions based upon scanning results, which ensure continued system functionality.

CDO Supports Aeroacoustic Research Complex

CDO Technologies, Inc. and the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright Patterson AFB (WPAFB) have established a new partnership through a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA).

Dayton, Ohio – CDO Technologies, based in Dayton, Ohio, will now support the Air Force Research Laboratory 711th Human Performance Wing Airman Systems Directorate Warfighter Interface Division, based at WPAFB, by managing the facility operations at the Aeroacoustic Research Complex (ARC) at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. A cooperative research and development agreement (CRADA) is an agreement between a government agency and a private company on research and development. Relatively rare, this particular CRADA agreement will make the facility available to commercial aerospace companies to test their aircraft for a fee.

“This is a really exciting opportunity because we’re really breaking new ground. We’re taking something very specific we’ve been doing for the Air Force for years and commercializing it,” said Al Wofford, founder and president of CDO Technologies. “This will be one of the first times we can successfully transfer advanced technology capability from a government client to the commercial space.”

The team anticipates commercial organizations using the specialized facility, unique research capability and high fidelity 3-D modeling results to design quiet aircraft technologies.

As an Acoustic Signature Capture and Modeling Research and Development facility, the ARC’s primary purpose is to characterize air vehicle audibility signatures. The facility consists of a control system, a full-scale outdoor sensor array of 50 microphones calibrated down to 20 micropascals positioned on the ground and on two vertical towers sampling at a rate of 48 kilohertz and 24 bit in addition to five miles of buried cable. The ARC enables high-fidelity, 3-D modeling of aircraft sound signatures in the environment when aircraft overfly the array. The facility has been operational since 2009 modeling the audible footprint of over 50 military aircraft to include fixed wing, rotary wing, manned, and unmanned aircraft.

“We’ve got this facility that is capturing this fine fidelity on the acoustics of aircraft so we can provide customers data they can use to quiet aircraft and comply with noise abatement at commercial airports or even for drones as they become more prevalent,” said John Hall, Research Scientist for the Air Force Research Laboratory. “If you look at companies delivering packages with drones, we have the facilities to make sure those drones aren’t disrupting people’s daily lives in urban and even rural areas.”

A wide open field

ARC also samples atmospheric conditions during testing. Two atmospheric LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) stations on site sample the atmosphere during testing up to 1,200 feet above the ground. This enables the team to evaluate any atmospheric effects that may impact the acoustic data collection. Additionally, they continuously track the location of the aircraft in flight throughout the entire data collection.

“White Sands Air Traffic Control (ATC) keeps all non-test aircraft 20 miles away from the test site during testing and all road traffic is halted as well on the range to ensure the signatures we capture are pristine,” said Hall. “During our testing window, the ambient outdoor conditions are so quiet you can nearly hear your own heartbeat, other than the aircraft we are testing. But once we process the data, we can add back in noisier ambient conditions computationally, like rural and urban environments. So, our customers can understand the effects of their noise signature in a variety of situations. The final result of the testing is a 3D noise signature model of the aircraft that can be used for mission planning, noise engineering, or environmental impact studies.”

As part of the CRADA agreement, CDO Technologies will be responsible for managing and maintaining the facility while scheduling and conducting testing on aircraft that will be provided by third-party entities. The ARC has relied on CDO’s technical expertise and qualifications for the past six years to manage the facility and develop the software for processing and delivering of the final product, often in a classified environment.

CDO Technologies joins other Dayton organizations as a Key Sponsor of the United Way’s new VetsLink 211 call referral service. When a veteran in the greater Dayton area calls the helpline, a trained specialist will connect them to resources, advocate on their behalf with service providers, and improve their overall quality of life. New Partnership Delivers Affordable RFID Asset Tracking

Businesses that have historically been unable to afford large-scale asset tracking now have access to customizable solutions as a result of a partnership between Brady Worldwide and CDO Technologies. The combination of Brady’s CenSys and CDO’s Critical Asset Tracking Solution (CATS) empowers businesses to efficiently locate items and dramatically reduce infrastructure costs.

“The benefits of RFID asset tracking are well known, but it hasn’t always been accessible for smaller companies,” said Al Wofford, founder and president of CDO Technologies. “The options we’re providing now are customizable and scalable, allowing businesses to compete more effectively with the big players in manufacturing, healthcare, and service industries.”

While each application is based on the unique needs of the end-user, Brady’s CenSys offers a lower cost yet highly reliable option for businesses looking for a tracking solution.

The Brady CenSys reader detects the presence and unique identity of passive UHF RFID tags within its field of view and feeds this information into CATS. The CenSys and CATS combination can connect to a cloud-based or on-premise server. CATS collects and records data to track asset movement, conduct inventories, or monitor work-in-process. Stored data can be integrated with other enterprise systems to construct financial analytics, measure production efficiencies, or validate logistical operations.

Because this asset tracking solution can be based in a cloud computing environment, businesses see a dramatic reduction in infrastructure costs by eliminating the need for on-site servers and custom software. Lower equipment costs can also be attributed to the strategic placement of readers.

“Many customers don’t need complete coverage of their facility,” said Columbia. “Instead, the last known location provides sufficient relevant data to update their customers or manage high-value items.”

For example, multiple lines, finishing processes, or manual processes complicate monitoring work-in-progress components but placing readers at specific production points make the tracking process smoother. The operator can log into the system to access information to update the customer. Tool tracking is also a common application where expensive or frequently used tools are tagged, and a series of readers are placed in the tool crib or on a workbench. This can reduce downtime spent searching for missing tools or the expense of replacing tools.
